The Mysterious Glory of God!

Despite our hardiest attempts to cope and stay afloat during a time of civil rebellion and unrest, the violent chaos swirling around us can paralyze our hearts, even numb our emotions. Perhaps you’ve even found yourself in a pitiful heap on the floor with your doors locked all the while ashamed to let anyone know the extent of your fear.
As believers, we might be thinking, If this is a spiritual battle then where are the angels? Where is God? Someone get me off this planet! Can’t we just hide under a rock and wait it out until we get back to “normal”?
Maintaining faith in Christ is not for wimps, and any manmade religion clearly shrivels and collapses under the rising spiritual oppression. This proves man’s need for a Savior. It proves every believer’s need for the Holy Spirit, God’s gift to His holy ones. Like never before, we need the Holy Spirit to be alive and active within us so we can rise above what our natural eyes are seeing. Without Holy Spirit, life can feel utterly hopeless!
Enough! No longer allowing the enemy to distort God’s true character.
In order to embrace lasting change within, we have to know God as the Change Maker, the God of Breakthrough.
Father in Heaven, Your ways are incredibly mysterious. You break out of every box I’m not even aware my human “understanding” puts You in.
God, You are good — but You’re not a sucker!
You’re tender — but You’re nobody’s doormat.
You are just — but Your mercy is beyond my understanding.
You are innocent — but never mocked.
You’re unquestionably faithful — but You are no one’s fool.
You’re patient — yet You do not tolerate sin.
You’re the epitome of kindness — and yet, You never kowtow to a bully.
Note the absolute stability in God’s character in the above phrases. And this is just a partial list of His character traits!
Using the “Keys of the Kingdom” to take authority over this war
Inspired by the account of Nehemiah (rebuilder of the wall in Jerusalem), I asked God this same question a while back. And He answered:
“As you take back dominion under Christ, make the enemy your slave and flip every area of bondage for the good of the Kingdom.“
In response, I jotted down my weak areas, those places in my heart where the enemy (the devil) thought he had made me his slave. No human is exempt from having these weaknesses; they’re just different for each person. I used my list to develop a war strategy. In my prayer closet, I declared and decreed out loud in Jesus’s name what was going to change — right now — through the power of His blood and His Holy Spirit.
Here’s my partial list of “Where the enemy has falsely told me I’m ____, my new label says ____”:
- The label “fear” will now be an extravagant love toward others.
- The label “voiceless” is turning into proclamations and decrees of righteousness over my home and my nation.
- “Hopelessness” is becoming a renewed and stronger faith.
- “Poverty” is becoming abundant wealth so I can give abundantly to others.
- “Powerlessness” is now power and authority in Christ to set others free.
- “Valueless” has turned into cherished-by-God and empowered to cherish what the Father cherishes.
Testimony: the partial list above reflects the new reality I live by today, and all glory goes to the God of Breakthrough.
God’s Glory, Mysterious and Mighty!
Friend this IS how we do warfare. The forces of darkness must always bow to the Light. Always!
“It is true, we live in a body of flesh. But we do not fight like people of the world. We do not use those things to fight with that the world uses. We use the things God gives to fight with and they have power. Those things God gives to fight with destroy the strong-places of the devil. We break down every thought and proud thing that puts itself up against the wisdom of God. We take hold of every thought and make it obey Christ.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLV
Once you possess the Lord’s heart in purity of faith and character, you too can do whatever you want with your enemy — who will soon regret he ever messed with us.
Friend, make your list today, the list of intimidating labels the enemy has put on you. Then turn them back on him by declaring God’s truth. Like it or not, you are at war, but through Christ your Lord, you will win.
P.S. Once you gain your footing in your own home, you will feel empowered to use your Kingdom keys to bring heaven into situations in your neighborhood, your city, your state, and your nation!
