WHERE WOULD THIS AUTHOR GO
FOR A DREAM VACATION?

IF TIME and money were no issue, I’d hit select scenic spots around the world. I’m not out to conquer mountains or complete the loooooooongest trail. My idea of hiking involves engagement.

DON’T RUSH ME!
I WANT TO STOP at my leisure and take in the colors of the changing trees in autumn. Or stand mesmerized at the panoramic view of a beautiful valley thousands of feet below.
I must ENGAGE. It’s how I’m wired
I’ve gotta BE ONE WITH nature.
To SMELL the flowers.
TASTE the air.
TOUCH the bark, the dirt, and the stream.
I’ll walk for miles doing this.
LET ME FIND the wild animals in their natural habitat.
OKAY, there are a couple of restrictions. I don’t do Death Valley heat. No arctic cold, please. I need mild temperatures so I can focus on the flora and fauna. 40s are okay, but nothing over 80 degrees.
ONLY THEN I can drop my characters into that setting and let my readers fee, smell, taste, and believe they’re actually there themselves.

Italy, for the history, landscape and food. Yes, mostly the food!
I would go to Ireland. Hike along some cliffs, stand there to be sprayed with mist, and eat tomatoes with breakfast. I would visit the island of Iona. I would be a character in a book so you could write about me. 🙂
