Thanksgiving in August
Christmas in July has become fairly common. There’s even a 1940s movie by the title. And stores apply the concept to their marketing strategies. But who said they had a monopoly on something so catchy?
So today, at The Embattled Spirit, we tell Christmas to STEP ASIDE and…
Make way for THANKSGIVING
DID YOU KNOW:
“Elderly people who were happy with their lives lived up to 20-35 percent longer than their not-so-happy counterparts.” –Huffington Post
–Dr. Cynthia Thaik , Cardiologist
(We don’t apply this healthy practice enough, so here are thoughts to get us started):
Thank you, God, that You are faithful when I am not.
Thank you that when I give up, You persist.
That when I feel smothered, You are my next breath.
Thank You that when I act unloveable, Your Love breaks through.
When I feel powerless, You can’t be dethroned.
When I’m blind, You still see.
Thank you, God, that even though I feel afraid, Your courage rages.
That You speak truth to heart-places where the world has lied to me.
That Your mercy reveals where I deceive myself.
Thank You, that when I feel hopeless, You are Hope.
That You mend what’s been broken.
That You restore all that been stolen.
When I shake, I’m thankful that You cannot be shaken.
Thank You that I am in You, and You are in me. John 15:4-8
Thank You … for teaching me thankfulness.
How many things will you thank God for today?
Share your sacrifice of thanksgiving in the comment section.

Love this. God’s been reminding to be keep a thankful attitude even when it’s really hard. It really does make a difference. 🙂
Funny how the things that make the most difference are the things for which we often need constant reminders.
Always good to see you at the Embattled Spirit, Raechel.
