Switching Around Just Two Letters Can Change Your Life
When I forget who I am, and Whose I am, my thinking drifts from sacred to scared.
Say each of those words out loud, and let their meanings touch your heart, what image or emotion does each one elicit? Try it.
Scared …
Sacred …

Definitions:
- Sacred: blessed, devoted, “secured against violation” < (because of the blood of Jesus)
- Scared: intimidated, panicked, filled with fear
What thoughts are repeatedly or habitually occupying my mind? What are those thoughts revealing about who I am?
If I’m honest with myself . . .
- Is fear crippling my ability to see all the blessings God wants to lavish upon me in 2020?
- Has panic been whispering, “That blood covering thing is a lie. You’re never really safe.”
- Is intimidation overriding my devotion, telling me to: “Stay safe. Don’t talk about Jesus or church or anything sacred!”
- According to my answers above, what is my heart telling me I am right this minute? Scared or sacred?
Which word I will choose to live by starts in my knower, that part of my heart that knows.
It starts in that gut-level awareness of the reality (sacred or scared) that I presently live in—or choose to live in.
It starts in whichever reality my behavior caters to—or craters to. Which reality are you enslaved to, today? Sacred or scared?
If you belong to God, you belong to Him every hour of the day, every minute, every second.
Nothing can separate you from the Father’s love:
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 (emphasis added)
What does science say about fear and your blood? “Blood flow decreases to your brain’s frontal lobe, which is responsible for logical thinking and planning, and the deeper, more animalistic parts of your brain … takes over.” – (Your Body on Fear)
Animalistic? (Are we not seeing a lot of today!) Does fear want to turn us into animals?
Only, God designed us to walk in love, power and a sound mind — not fear. We’ve received a spiritual Blood (of Jesus) transfusion, which means we can think logically amid fearful circumstances. Embrace the Sacred, and the animalistic nature loses.
The Sacred blood of Jesus flows through the veins of every true Believer and releases every spiritual blessing.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
Ephesians 1:3
Reality check!
Do your letters need to be switched around?
Are you “living scared” . . .
or “Living in the Sacred”?
Lord God, I know there is NO fear in Heaven. I need more of You to fill me so I can live a sacred life during these scary times on Earth. Fill me up with the Father’s love until it conquers all my fears. Jesus, thank You for shedding Your untainted, innocent blood to save me. I ask in Your name — make me fearless! Amen.
