Life Without Borders
“In the Name of the Lord, I…”
The most sobering verse of application I’ve ever read in the Bible:
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17
He doesn’t say “while attending church…”
Nor does he say “While celebrating holidays with family…”
Neither does he limit the concept to “While in your prayer closet…”
He gives no specification as to which of my words or actions the verse applies to. Therefore, nothing is disqualified. Or rather, every word out of my mouth and every thing I do makes the “do all” list.
(And we know He’s keeping track for the awards banquet. Romans 2)
Perhaps it only matters when I’m where God can see me, or wherever the Holy Spirit is. Then I should “Do…in the name of the Lord. And give thanks.” *giggle*
No parameters.
Whatever you do in word or deed, do ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Life–in the name of the Lord–has no borders. The opportunities are endless because of the power that’s in the Name above all names. When walking in the Light as He is in the Light, there’s nothing to hide, no shame. Walking in the Light, there’s no secret or double life that might be exposed because I’m free from the sin that once bound me. Taking the Lord’s name in vain (tagging “Jesus” on to a work of the flesh) doesn’t even cross my thoughts. Even the atmosphere of hatred the world insists on creating cannot hold me down. I refuse to give it any power (through agreement). Love still drives me!
What’s driving you?
Not everything written in the Bible is understood at first read or with crystal clarity. BUT I LIKE THESE VERSES THAT ARE STRAIGHT FORWARD THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Am I ready to love others when they’re at their worst, knowing kindness leads to repentance?
But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Romans 5:8 (The Message)
Or do you belittle the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience—not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4 TLV

A partnership with the world competes with a partnership with the Lord.

Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15 HCSB
Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy. James 4:4 HCSB

Am I willing to live a lifestyle of sacrificial love, knowing this is the only way other people will know that I belong to God?
How else can I introduce them to Him? My actions speak loudest.
He who says, “I know God,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1John 2:4-6
I’ve chosen my Partner.
I am willing.
I am ready.
How about you?
