In short: Kisses
A kiss on the cheek, the lips. Warm and soft. Loving. It’s an invasion of personal space. Slobbery grandchild kisses, okay. Still, I give fewer than a handful of people that much access to my face space.
Oh, but then, to be kissed by the One who holds my past, present, and future in His hands. I receive it! A supernatural invasion of personal space. A kiss that’s over the top. So holy it’s almost inconceivable.
But He did it. Still does it. And in my confession, He won’t stop lavishing me with His kisses.
“You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done. You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease,” Psalm 103:3 TPT.
God has never sought to get even with us for sinning. He is too good for that lowly thinking. So close your eyes. Open your heart. And imagine an intimate kiss. Imagine the Spirit of God drawing you close…
Father in Heaven, there are no words significant enough to express my gratitude. So, instead, I ask You to fill me with Your love for others until I am unwilling to judge, until I am so generous with mercy that they will be drawn to Your forgiving heart. In Jesus’s holy name.
