Deep Secrets
Who Knows Your Deepest Secrets?
No eye has ever seen this,
and no ear has ever heard about it.
No human heart has ever imagined
what God has prepared for those who love him. (v.9)
Better to be physically blind than spiritually blind.
Better to lose physical hearing and gain spiritual hearing.
O my soul, awaken to the purest truths of the universe!
But God has revealed to us these things through the Spirit.
For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. (v.10)
The most profound, divine counsel!
How mysterious. And lovely.
Not a ghostly phantom or a drifting vapor,
But the very Spirit of the living God.
Communicating with you. With me.
Who knows the thoughts that another person has? Only a person’s spirit that lives within him knows his thoughts. It is the same with God. No one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. (v.11)
You cannot read my thoughts!
My thoughts are in my control.
They are my responsibility.
At the same time, I am created in the image of the triune God.
Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but we received the Spirit that is from God so that we can know all that God has freely given us. (v.12)
Neither stolen nor forced upon me,
The Counselor and Teacher.
His Spirit is a gift, a blessing,
A guarantee of what is to come.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (v.13 )
To equate spiritual things with natural things devalues human worth
To equate natural things with spiritual things is idolatry
A person who does not have the Spirit does not accept the truths things that come from the Spirit of God. That person thinks they are foolish and cannot understand them. Why? Because they can only be judged to be true [discerned; assessed] by the Spirit (living within the believer). (v14)
Do I read God’s word with my spiritual senses?
Or only make sense of Scripture with my natural mind?
Do I allow Holy Spirit to interpret His own Words?
Or do I merely apply human wisdom and understanding?
But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. (v.15)
Assess.
Resolve.
Conclude.
Discern.
All things?
Yes, the omniscient God desires to share His divine knowledge with those who love Him.
I am created in His image.
Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Who has been able to teach [advise; counsel] him?
But we have the mind of Christ. (v.16)
Filled with the Spirit, I have access to the omniscient mind of Christ, Lord of lords, King of kings. Yet my spirit is constantly at war with my flesh.
My friend, take heed:
If an entering thought attacks Goodness
If it is impure
If it kills Joy
If it expresses arrogance
If it spurns Gentleness
If it shows no Patience
If it violates Peace
If it cheapens Kindness
If it undermines Faithfulness
If it ridicules Self-control
. . . then do not accept it, for that thought is not from God.
Focusing on truths of the Spirit

Love this message of peace and hope from God. It helps me pray for others who aren’t aware of how big God is in their lives and it gives me confidence in whom I serve.
Thanks for sharing J. 🙂
Hugs from Paulette.
