Blessed are the Seasons of Life
A Time For Every Purpose Under Heaven
AM I EMBRACING the purpose of this passing season? Are my eyes (and heart) glazing over this difficult time, waiting to come to life as soon as happier times arise? “Happiness” may feel comfortable, but wouldn’t I value it far more if I fully engaged in the unhappy seasons?
To intimately embrace each season is to experience total aliveness!
IDENTIFY which season you’re in then ponder the statements that follow.
(Ecclesiastes 3) A TIME . . .
To be born To die
To plant To reap
To kill To heal
To break down To build up
To weep To laugh
To mourn To dance
To cast away stones To gather stones
To embrace To refrain from embracing
To gain To lose
To keep To throw away
To tear To sew
To keep silence To speak
To love To hate
A time of war and of peace
WHEN you cast away stones, invite Him to direct your throws.
ALIGN your heart with His so that when you hate, you hate what He hates and not the people He loves.
WHEN you mourn, give it your all and don’t hold back. Then dance with abandon.
WHEN you tear, leave no thread attached. Then let God choose your new threads for sewing.
PRAISE Him at all times and through all seasons; for there is a purpose for everything that happens on earth that we may never understand until heaven comes.
GOD UNDERSTANDS seasons; they do not escape His shaping hands. He is, was, and will be present throughout each one . . .
when we keep silent and when we break down.
GOD is good in all His ways; He understands life and what it is for man to be truly alive with abundance of spirit. Keep Him at your center through all seasons. Seek first His kingdom and righteousness and you’ll be victorious through every season.
