Are We Tangled in Time or Tailored for Eternity?

I look ahead and plan out my days, forgetting that the vanishing point in front of me is more of a figment of my imagination — meaning the road I’m on actually continues beyond my viewing range. Does this mean I’m merely guessing at my future?
How often do you forget about eternity and live as though life is finite?
[God] made everything appropriate [beautiful] in its time. He also placed eternity within them—yet, no person can fully comprehend what God is doing from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 ISV
I don’t know about you, but eternity is a concept I cannot grasp. A conjoined “past, present, and future” that’s beyond the bounds of my chronological timeline. Timelessness is unfathomable. And something that’s unfathomable renders me (and you) ignorant.
As if to prove that eternity causes us to live in ignorance, I turn on the TV to watch men talk and act as if they are the end-all, the pièce de résistance worthy of acknowledgement, even reward. This ignorance is not bliss — it’s scary!
In Light of eternity, Wisdom says: Seek God — the Creator of time who is eternal — and worship Him.

The Eternal One is Never Ignorant
God is fully aware of the beginning and the end of every SEASON, every CRISIS, every RIOT, every WAR, every STORM. He knows how long a season of peace will last. He understands what sparked a new season and what will bring that season to a close.
He knows all of this because He sees with crystal clarity the heart of men—our WEAKNESSES, our STRENGTHS, our MOTIVATIONS, our TENDENCIES, our PREJUDICES and BIASES, our DESIRES and DREAMS, our GOOD and our EVIL…
And, according to His Wisdom, He still gifted us with free will to make our own choices and live out the consequences, good or bad!
God alone sees the true reality of what takes place during any decade — year, century, millennia. God loves His own creation (us), and He sees all things pertaining to man’s existence.
He alone can, and does, make everything beautiful at the appropriate time — especially for those who love Him and are called!
The God who knows everything, from its beginning to its end, also holds the answers we seek and the solutions to every problem. When we ask, He will give the foresight we need to march ahead in confidence toward our vanishing point, one day at a time.
Ask for a revelation of God’s goodness. Open your heart, and ask. He gives generously!
When we lack a personal revelation of God’s goodness and mercy toward us, we risk living miserably, complaining and grumbling in our personal world of negativity.
“God considers all of humanity to be prisoners of their unbelief, so that he can unlock our hearts and show his tender mercies to all who come to him.
Who could ever wrap their minds around the riches of God, the depth of his wisdom, and the marvel of his perfect knowledge?
Who could ever explain the wonder of his decisions or search out the mysterious way he carries out his plans?”
Romans 11:32-33 TPT
Sowing Seeds of Bravery to Embrace the Eternal
P.S. A mind-boggling truth:
In His Wisdom, God chooses to share His authority with those who seek to know Him intimately. He desires that we have dominion over the Earth, ruling with Jesus, our Christ, our King. With Him, not against Him. Ruling for His kingdom, not for personal gain.
He withholds and gives according to His wisdom. In partnership with our prayers, or in response to our willful choices, He permits men to take control/leadership or strips away their control—all according to His unfathomable wisdom and eternal insight.
Life begins when we choose Jesus Christ. By choosing to conform to God’s timeless wisdom instead of relying on our finite understanding, we will live as His fearless champions.

This really resonated with me: “Ask for a revelation of God’s goodness. Open your heart, and ask. He gives generously! When we lack a personal revelation of God’s goodness and mercy toward us, we risk living miserably, complaining and grumbling in our personal world of negativity.”
I KNOW in my mind God is good. So I often don’t think to ask for a revelation, believing that I should “know better,” not understanding that I am weak and finite and need His constant reminders and assurances. I don’t want to be negative – I want to ask!
Amen to that, Pat. I believe God loves when we come to Him as expectant children to ask for what’s on His heart, ask to know His thoughts/wisdom, and ask for what He promises–like a revelation of His goodness!
