A Ticking Clock, Friend or Foe?

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Eyes closed, I sit silently, listening to the steady, quiet pulse of the clock on my wall.
Tick. Tock . . .
Time is ticking … yet, I am already spending a timeless eternity with my God.
Tick. Tock . . .
Time is still evolving and seasons still revolving, yet everything You’ve set in motion, no man can stop.
Tick. Tock . . .
The seconds are not slipping away. No, they are setting a secure pace toward the bounteous freedom from this clay tent.
Tick. Tock . . .
Every minute is a new notch, every hour a new rung in the ladder … I climb higher with You, higher in You…
Tick. Tock . . .
Time is a prompting for the pure of heart, and a mercy pleading for the impure marching toward judgment.
Tick. Tock . . .
This season is passing…just as the seasons before it. Each completing its purpose in Earth, for God so loved the world . . .
Tick. Tock . . .
Time is my reminder, my ally, a gift.
Tick. Tock . . .
Eyes closed, I sit silently, listening to steady, quiet pulse of the clock on my wall.
The steady beating of Your heart, Your steady love, Your steady mind, Your steady purpose. You are steady in all Your ways.…
And You keep me steady, as the dependable, merciful Tick-Tock of a Clock.
My heart is steady, God; my heart is steady.
I will sing and praise you.
Psalm 57:7 (NCV)
Father in Heaven, help me to never give up or grow impatient. Let me be entwined as one with You. Spirit of God, fill me with “brave and courageous” so that I will never lose hope. You have never disappointed me, Jesus, and You never will. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. My time is Yours.
