(This post was inspired by the book of Habakkuk and Gateway Freedom Ministry)

Did you ever ponder what makes up the fabric of true Life?

All that existed before  the earth, sun, moon and stars, resided in God’s nature, His character. (Gen 1)

And it still does

Divine Love – A consuming fire, an aggressive love that never puts up with what hurts me, including myself. Who I am or what I do cannot change this great and pursuing love.

Divine Peace – The kind that overwhelms my anxieties, yet so much more. Completeness, prosperity, welfare . . . Shalom

Divine Righteousness. He is righteousness, yours and mine. God’s rightness is the way He designed things to go as His presence reigns.

God gave us the earth and told us to steward it.

When His righteousness is invited, life goes right.

When all goes wrong, He is still righteous.

Divine Joy, Kindness, Gentleness, Selflessness, Justice . . . a complete list is too long to fit here.

Altruism in its purest, divine state made up the fabric of life that existed before time, before the material world, as we know it, came into being.

These Divine things cannot and will not fade or pass away.

Why?

Because He is, was, and is to come. Rev. 1:8

So then . . .

“WHY?” I ask, as the prophet Habakkuk did.

Armies invade, as if fellow humans are soulless creatures fit only to be broken.

Murderers run free, shooting the innocent—and we blame the weapons.

Disease invades our borders, stealing our loved ones—and we blame the mosquito.

Banks collapse.

A child kills his parents and the parent kills her child.

“Why?”

(If you ask God honestly, expect an honest answer.)

Pride = the very opposite of God’s nature. Not part of the eternal fabric.

“Our own sense of insecurity and the accompanying feelings of inferiority fuel our prideful behavior.” R. Morris

Man is proud and cannot see beyond his own ideas and deeds, his own handiwork.

Anything made from pride will not stand. Cannot stand. The proud will come to their own ruin.

Pride is not in the fabric of true Life but of death

therefore pride naturally comes to ruin.

Leave it.

Even as the world falls apart around me, as it had crumbled around Habakkuk:

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord;

I will exult in the victorious God of my salvation!

The Lord God is my Strength,

my personal bravery,

and my invincible army;

He makes my feet like hinds’ feet

and will make me to walk

not to stand still in terror, but to walk

and make spiritual progress

upon my high places of trouble, suffering, or responsibility!

(His righteousness at work)

But what about the headlines and other stuff that overwhelm me? Anxieties, sorrow, impatience, hatred, meanness, pain, lack of control, abuse?

↑Those things are not and can never be part the eternal Kingdom.

Yet amid all these things

we are more than conquerors

and gain a surpassing victory

through Him Who loves us.

Rom 8

But seek first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own . . . (Matt 6:33)

Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His divine presence WILL overwhelm those things that overwhelm us.

How will you seek Him today?
